Now it is official! Google accepted O|B|F and NRNB as mentoring organizations. You can apply NOW!

Google often runs a summer program called Google Summer of Code (GSoC), in which Google pays students to work on open-source software. The students work remotely from wherever they live, on projects organized by various groups under the umbrella of a mentoring organization.

Google is running GSoC again this year. We have many project ideas under the umbrella of the NRNB (National Resource for Network Biology) and further projects from OBF (Open Bioinformatics Foundation).

Google has selected the set of mentoring organizations on February 27. Now it is your chance to apply for your participation.

If you are a student and are interested in the SBML-related projects, you can contact Timo Sachsenberg, Oliver Alka, or Andreas Dräger for more information. If you are faculty, perhaps you could suggest this opportunity to some of your students?

Important dates (see GSoC2017):

20 March: Student application period opens

03 April: Student application deadline

04 May: Accepted student proposals announced
